General treatment, booking and skincare
Useful information if you are deciding what to book or how to prepare.
Are semi-permanent makeup and permanent makeup the same thing?
You may see the terms semi-permanent makeup and permanent makeup used interchangeably. Both refer here to cosmetic treatments such as brows, lip blush and eyeliner, where pigment is placed into the skin to create long-lasting definition. While “permanent makeup” is widely used internationally, results naturally soften and fade over time, with maintenance appointments often recommended.
How do I choose the right treatment?
You do not need to decide alone. Olya will explain the available options, likely treatment plan and aftercare so you can choose with confidence.
Do I need a consultation?
Yes. A consultation gives you the opportunity to talk through your goals, ask questions and check that the treatment is appropriate for you. Consultation prices that are redeemable are shown on the Prices page.
How is hygiene managed during treatment?
Hygiene and cross-contamination controls are an essential part of every appointment. Single-use sterile cartridges and appropriate professional procedures are used, with aftercare guidance provided to help you look after the treated area.
Can I buy skincare at the salon?
Yes. Olya can recommend professional skincare and homecare around your skin concerns and the treatments you are having. Advice is individual, so please ask during your visit or consultation.
How can I book?
Use the enquiry page to tell us what you are interested in. We will then help you arrange the right consultation or appointment.
What happens next?
Choose the treatment you are interested in and book the appropriate consultation or appointment. If you are unsure which option is right for you, send an enquiry and Olya will guide you.
ContinVe FAQs
Answers about the Histomer professional skin-longevity programme offered at Olya SPMU.
What is the Histomer ContinVe treatment?
ContinVe is Histomer Professional’s cosmetic facial programme designed to support a more radiant, even and firmer-looking complexion. It combines professional products and techniques selected for your skin with a personalised homecare routine where appropriate.
Who is ContinVe suitable for?
It is generally considered for clients noticing early signs of ageing, loss of radiance, uneven tone or a reduction in firmness. Your consultation is used to assess your skin, goals, current routine and suitability before a course is recommended.
How many ContinVe appointments will I need?
Histomer’s professional guidance describes a course of 4–6 weekly sessions alongside homecare. Your own plan may differ: Olya will recommend the number and spacing of appointments after assessing your skin and the outcome you would like to work towards.
What happens during a ContinVe facial?
Your appointment is tailored following skin analysis. It includes professionally selected Histomer products and a treatment sequence chosen for your skin’s condition and goals. Olya will explain each step and the products used before treatment begins.
When should I expect to see a change?
Skin response varies. Histomer’s programme is intended to be followed consistently over a course, with professional sessions and recommended homecare working together. Olya will set realistic expectations for your skin rather than promise a particular result or timescale.
Will I need homecare products?
Homecare may be recommended to support and maintain the professional programme. Histomer describes its ContinVe programme as pairing professional sessions with daily use of selected products; Olya will only recommend what is appropriate for your skin and routine.
Is ContinVe an injectable or medical treatment?
No. ContinVe is a professional cosmetic skincare programme. It does not replace medical advice, prescription skincare or injectable treatments. Please raise any medical concerns or active skin conditions during consultation.
Can ContinVe be combined with other treatments?
This depends on your skin, current products and any recent treatments. Olya will advise on a safe sequence and timing; please tell us about injectables, peels, retinoids, prescription products, allergies and any skin sensitivity before booking.
What aftercare is recommended?
Use the products and routine advised for you, cleanse gently, keep skin hydrated and use daily sun protection. Consistency is important. You will receive personalised advice if there are any short-term product or activity restrictions for your treatment plan.
Can I have ContinVe if my skin is sensitive or I am pregnant?
Please arrange a consultation first. Sensitivity, pregnancy, allergies, medication and your current skincare all need to be considered before products are selected. Do not begin a new programme without telling Olya about these factors.
Permanent makeup
Brows, lip blush and eyeliner: treatment planning, healing and maintenance.
What is semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, uses carefully selected pigment to enhance features such as brows, lips and eyeliner. The approach, colour and shape are tailored to you during consultation.
How long does semi-permanent makeup last?
Results gradually soften over time. Longevity varies with skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and the area treated. Many clients choose a colour refresh after around 12–18 months; Olya will discuss the most suitable maintenance plan with you.
Does it look natural?
The aim is a soft, balanced enhancement that works with your own features. Shape and pigment are agreed with you before treatment, so you can see and approve the planned result.
How is the shape for permanent makeup decided?
Your natural features, facial balance, colouring and preferences are all considered. Olya maps and checks the proposed shape with you before treatment begins, so you can approve the plan and feel comfortable with the direction.
What happens at a permanent-makeup consultation?
You will have time to talk through your goals, any concerns and your medical or treatment history. Olya will discuss appropriate shape and colour options, explain the treatment and healing process, and confirm whether a patch test or any preparation is recommended.
Do I need a patch test?
A patch test can be arranged where recommended. Please mention allergies, medical conditions, medication or any previous cosmetic treatment at consultation so suitability and timing can be assessed safely.
How should I prepare for my permanent-makeup appointment?
You will receive personalised pre-treatment guidance once your appointment is confirmed. As a general guide, avoid introducing new products or treatments to the area shortly beforehand, and tell Olya about medications, allergies, recent procedures and any medical changes.
Is the procedure uncomfortable?
Comfort is carefully managed throughout the appointment. A topical numbing product may be used where appropriate, and the treatment is adapted to your comfort and needs, but with the latest equipment the procedure is relatively pain-free.
What should I expect immediately afterwards?
The treated area can appear darker or more defined at first and may have temporary redness, swelling or light flaking while it settles. You will receive clear aftercare guidance and the expected healing stages before you leave.
Will I need a touch-up appointment?
For many permanent-makeup treatments, a perfecting appointment is planned after the initial healing period. This is commonly around 4–6 weeks later, but timing depends on the area treated and your individual healing process.
Can I refresh existing permanent makeup?
Often, yes. Bring details of any previous treatment to your consultation so Olya can assess the best route and quote accurately.
Aqualyx
Suitability, planning and aftercare for this consultation-led treatment.
What is Aqualyx used for?
Aqualyx is a consultation-led injectable treatment used to address localised areas of unwanted fat; it is not a weight-loss treatment. Olya will discuss the area you would like to address, suitability, possible risks and the treatment plan before any appointment is booked.
Is Aqualyx right for everyone?
No. Aqualyx is not a weight-management treatment and may not be suitable for every person or every area. A consultation is required to assess your goals, health information and expectations before treatment can be recommended.
What happens during an Aqualyx appointment?
After a suitability assessment, the area is discussed and a tailored plan is agreed. The treatment time varies by area. A suitable numbing approach may be discussed, and Olya will explain the appointment process, aftercare and when it is appropriate to review your progress.
How many Aqualyx appointments might I need?
The number of appointments depends on the area, your goals and your response to treatment. A course may be recommended, with visits spaced apart to allow time for assessment. Your personalised plan and costs will be confirmed during consultation.
What side effects can follow Aqualyx?
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur following injectable treatments. The expected effects, potential risks, contraindications and aftercare will be explained during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
What aftercare will I receive?
You will be given clear written aftercare instructions for your treatment. Following this advice carefully is important for comfort, healing and the way your result settles. Please contact the salon if you have any concerns during recovery.
Tropic skincare
Helpful answers about the Tropic range available through Olya SPMU.
What is Tropic Skincare?
Tropic is a beauty brand with a broad range spanning skincare, hair care, body care, makeup, tanning and sun care. Its products are available through independent Tropic Ambassadors, including Olya at the salon.
Who founded Tropic Skincare?
Tropic was founded by Susie Ma, who developed the brand from her early skincare business. For the latest information about the company, visit Tropic’s official website.
How are Tropic ingredients sourced?
Tropic describes its ingredients as being sourced from tropical regions around the world, working with suppliers and co-operative farmers to support quality and responsible sourcing. Ingredients and formulations can change, so check the individual product information if a particular ingredient matters to you.
Where can I buy Tropic Skincare products?
Olya is your local Tropic Ambassador. You can ask about the range and purchase products at the salon, with guidance tailored to your skin, routine and preferences.
What does “naturally derived” skincare mean?
Natural skincare is not a regulated term and does not automatically mean that a product is suitable for every skin type. Tropic uses “naturally derived” to describe ingredients that originate in nature but may have been processed, for example by distilling an essential oil from a flower. Product packaging lists the ingredients in both plain English and INCI terminology, so you can make an informed choice.
Is Tropic Skincare vegan and cruelty-free?
Tropic states that its products are vegan and cruelty-free. If certification, allergen or ingredient information is important to you, please check the current product page or ask Olya before purchasing.
Why choose Tropic Skincare?
The range is designed to make everyday skincare feel simple and enjoyable, with products chosen around your individual skin concerns. Olya can help you build a considered routine rather than buying products you may not need.
Are Tropic products recyclable?
Tropic offers recyclable secondary packaging and many recyclable or refillable product options. Local recycling facilities vary, so please check the packaging and your council’s guidance for the most accurate disposal advice.
Do Tropic products contain preservatives?
Some water-based products use a preservative system to help prevent the growth of bacteria, yeast and mould. Tropic also uses packaging and waterless formulations where appropriate to limit the amount of preservative required. Check the individual product ingredients if you have sensitivities or concerns.
Are natural skincare products better for skin?
There is no single answer: every skin type is different. The best routine is one that suits your skin, is used consistently and does not trigger sensitivity. Tropic combines plant-derived extracts with other ingredients where needed for product performance; Olya can help you select products thoughtfully.
What are AHAs and BHAs? Can they be used every day?
AHAs and BHAs are exfoliating acids. AHAs work on the outer surface of the skin and can help with texture and dullness, while BHAs can work within pores and may be useful for congestion and excess oil. Frequency depends on the formulation, concentration and your skin. Follow the specific product guidance, introduce exfoliants gradually and use daily SPF; ask Olya if you are unsure.
Why can skin feel tight after using skincare?
Tightness can be caused by very hot water, over-cleansing or rubbing the skin too firmly. Use lukewarm water, cleanse gently, pat skin dry and follow with the moisturising products recommended for you. If tightness persists or your skin becomes irritated, stop the product and ask for advice.
